In the spirit of Nurses Week, we’re featuring our Registered Practical Nurse, Jaime-Lynn Humphrey.
We caught up with Jaime-Lynn to ask her some questions about life at Albany Retirement Village.
1. What inspired you to get into nursing?
I’ve always wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember. I enjoy helping others and being there to ensure residents are receiving quality care. Nursing is such a rewarding job in many ways.
2. How long have you been with Albany?
Almost 2 years. I started working at Albany as a PSW in June 2017, and at the end of July 2018 I began as an RPN.
3. What is it that you think sets Albany apart?
What sets Albany apart is that we work hard to meet the individual needs and wishes of our residents. Our flexibility towards meeting individualized needs is ever changing. At Albany, our staff treat each resident as if it’s our loved one. You don’t see that in every home.
4. In your job, what brings you the most joy?
What brings me the most joy is being there for the residents and hearing their amazing life stories and memories. It also means a lot to me to be there to support them on their hardest days.
Thank you, Jaime-Lynn for being such a kind and compassionate member of the team. Your caring spirit and commitment to excellence does not go unnoticed.
