FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

  1. What type of living accommodations are provided at Albany Retirement Village?

Independent Living is for folks who can largely take care of themselves or who supplement their personal care with homecare and could benefit from a “health infrastructure.”  Medication administration, housekeeping, laundry, meals, 24 emergency lifeline service and social programming is included.  Rooms are unfurnished; design and furnish your room with your personal touch.

Assisted Living is for folks who need the “health infrastructure”, but also require assistance with
bathing/showering, personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and functional mobility. Residents have 24-hour access to an unregulated care provider as well as weekly access to registered nursing services. Rooms are furnished (if you choose); bringing personal keepsakes make you feel at home.

Extended Care is for folks who have been assessed by the Local Health Integration Network (formally CCAC) and approved for long-term care.  Extended Care includes all the Assisted Living services with additional registered nursing services. Residents receive registered nursing consultations daily from Monday-Friday.

  1. Do I have to start as Independent Living to be able to move into Albany Retirement Village?

  1. What is the cost to stay at Albany Retirement Village?

The cost depends on the service package and type of accommodations.  Some residents opt for semi-private (shared) suites while others prefer our private bachelor or 1 bedroom suites .  Our prices are competitive while reflecting the cost of living in Ontario.
